The German Bundestag has rejected a resolution on the supply of long-range Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine.

As reported by Bild, 495 Bundestag MPs voted against the supply of German Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine, and 190 supported it.

The issue of supplying Ukraine with Taurus missiles was raised by the opposition CDU/CSU faction.

As reported by the media, the resolution calls on the German government to "finally satisfy the Ukrainian request for the supply of Taurus cruise missiles from the available reserves of the Bundeswehr to the maximum possible volume and without delay".

Earlier, Britta Haßelmann, the co-chair of the Green Party’s parliamentary group in the Bundestag, stated that the political force would reject the proposal of the opposition CDU/CSU faction on providing Ukraine with long-range Taurus missiles.

On 22 February 2024, the Bundestag also did not support the opposition resolution calling for providing Ukraine with Taurus.
