Finnish President Alexander Stubb arrived in Kyiv on Wednesday, 3 April, for a visit.

Stubb attached a photo with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy, taken near the Mariinsky Palace in Kyiv, to his post on Twitter (X).

He thanked Zelenskyy for the warm welcome in Kyiv.

"We had a good discussion on Finland’s strong and continuing support to Ukraine, the wider European perspective and Ukraine’s Peace Formula, which Finland wholeheartedly supports," he said.

Stubb added that Zelenskyy had informed him of the situation on the battlefield.

"My main message: Finland is with you, as long as it takes," Stubb said.

Alexander Stubb, the winner of the Finnish presidential election, officially took office on 1 March, replacing Sauli Niinistö.

Stubb promised that there could be no political relations with Russia until the war in Ukraine was over.
