Finnish president meets Ukrainian defenders of Hostomel Airport
Finnish President Alexander Stubb, who is making his first visit to Ukraine as president, has visited the battlefield at Hostomel Airport and met with several military personnel who took part in its defence.
The Finnish leader shared a photo from Hostomel on Twitter (X), noting that it is a symbolic site from the early days of the full-scale war, where Ukraine's struggle for freedom and independence began.
"It is a symbol of courage, decisiveness and resistance. I was honoured to meet some of the veterans of the Hostomel battle and hear about their experiences. Slava Ukraini!" Stubb said.
