Zuzana Čaputová, President of Slovakia, came to Kyiv on a farewell visit on 10 May since her presidential term is ending.

According to TASR, Маrtіn Strіžеnеc, spokesperson for Čaputová, stated that information on the further programme of her stay in Ukraine will be provided on an ongoing basis for security reasons.

Čaputová stated on her Facebook page that this is her fourth visit to Kyiv during her presidency and the third during the war.

"Another reason for my visit is that I brought good news about Slovakia’s aid to Ukraine," Čaputová noted.

Peter Pellegrini, a coalition partner of anti-Ukrainian Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, was elected as the new President of Slovakia.

After Pellegrini’s win, Fico and his allies will consolidate power and control the parliament, the government and the Office of the President of Slovakia.

After current Slovak President Zuzana Čaputová resigns in June, no top official who would unconditionally support the military aid for Kyiv and its efforts of defence against Russian aggression will be left in Slovakia.
