Estonia will transfer a power unit from the Auvere power plant and electric motors to Ukraine.

Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba expressed at a press conference gratitude to Estonia for its decisive actions in helping the Ukrainian energy system overcome the aftermath of the destruction caused by Russian missiles.

"The decision to transfer a power unit belonging to the Auvere power plant to Ukraine, as well as to send high-power electric motors to Ukraine, is extremely important and an example for others," Kuleba said.

The Ukrainian minister added that one such power unit is capable of providing a reliable power supply for 150,000 Ukrainians.

"This is really effective help," he said, adding that it is not easy to deliver this power unit in terms of logistics, but "help is on the way."

Last week, the Swedish government announced that it would allocate SEK 650 million (over US$61 million) to Ukraine to support Ukraine's energy system.

On 21 May, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock examined one of Ukraine's largest thermal power plants that had been destroyed by a Russian missile strike.
