US Representative for Ukraine's Economic Recovery leaves office as her term comes to an end

Monday, 29 July 2024 —

Penny Pritzker, the US Special Representative for Economic Recovery of Ukraine, stated during a meeting with journalists in Kyiv that she would be finishing her duties in this capacity in September.

As reported by a correspondent of European Pravda, Pritzker justified her choice by citing the term of tenure, but conceded that she would not work to extend it: "I have to express with sadness that congressional demands limit my term in this position to one year. As a result, I'm making my final journey to Kyiv as a special representative. But I remain committed to this cause and endeavour."

Pritzker asserted that following her dismissal, the American administration will continue to assist in Ukraine's reconstruction.

"I'm not the only one committed to this job, the Biden administration is committed to Ukraine's economic recovery, so there will be permanence in our work," she said.
