Germany and Denmark deliver eight Leopard 1A5 tanks to Ukraine

The German government and Denmark have recently sent eight Leopard 1A5 battle tanks to Ukraine, the Federal Government’s list of German military aid suggests.

According to the list of German military aid, Ukraine has received 58 Leopard 1A5 tanks from Germany as of Monday, 29 July, while previously only 50 had been listed.

Kyiv also received 21,000 rounds of ammunition for Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft guns and two Bergepanzer 2 armoured repair and recovery vehicles plus spare parts in the latest delivery of military aid.

The list also includes 10 unmanned surface vessels, 10 ground surveillance radars, almost 25,000 combat helmets, and a field hospital.

The Netherlands, Germany and Denmark announced plans to send 100 Leopard 1 tanks to Ukraine in February 2023 as soon as they had been brought into a proper technical condition.

The Netherlands announced that a batch of Leopard 2A4s which the country purchased jointly with Denmark had been delivered to Ukraine last week.
