Poland has said that it did not shoot down an air object, which flew in from Ukraine during a massive Russian missile attack on Ukraine because of atmospheric conditions.

As quoted by Polsat News, Maciej Klisz, Commander of the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces, said he was ready to give the order to destroy the object and was in contact with Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, as well as Chief of the General Staff Wiesław Kukuła.

"The object disappeared after [flying] about 25 km [deep into] Polish territory. Due to atmospheric conditions, I was unable to give the command to shoot it down," he added.

The general noted that after it disappeared, the object was detected neither by NATO nor Polish aircraft.

The general said that the object was probably still on Polish territory, although he also did not rule out the possibility that it could have flown away.

There were reports about disruptions in the power system of Moldova following a large-scale Russian attack on Ukraine.
