Zelenskyy does not believe Trump really knows how to stop the war
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes that US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump does not really know how to stop the war in Ukraine.
Zelenskyy said in an interview with The New Yorker that Trump does not really know how to stop the war, even "if he might think he knows how."
"With this war, often the deeper you look at it, the less you understand," the president said.
He added that he had seen "many leaders who were convinced they knew how to end it tomorrow, and as they waded deeper into it, they realised it’s not that simple."
Earlier, Trump said that if he wins, he will be able to get along "well" with Russia and China.
Trump has repeatedly stated that he knows how to end the war in Ukraine. In a debate with Vice President Kamala Harris, he dodged the question of whether he wanted Ukraine to win the war, repeating only that he "wants to end the war" and claiming that the real human cost of the war was allegedly in the millions.
Harris, in turn, said that if he had been president in recent years instead of Joe Biden, it would have been a disaster for Ukraine and Eastern Europe.
