A protest took place in front of the Slovak government building in Bratislava on Monday in response to Prime Minister Robert Fico's trip to Moscow, where he met with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

As reported by Slovak publication Aktuality, the protest, called Enough of Russia, was organised by the public association Peace for Ukraine in response to Fico's meeting with Putin in the Kremlin.

The organisers said Sunday's meeting between the Slovak prime minister and Putin strengthens Russian influence and promotes cooperation with Russia through the issue of gas transit.

At the protest, the crowd shouted "traitor" at Fico.

Former prime ministers Igor Matovič and Eduard Heger, as well as opposition leaders, artists, and Ukrainian refugees attended the protest.

Representatives of the public association Peace for Ukraine report that Fico may have violated the law with his trip, as he is cooperating with Russia. Today, they will file a complaint with Slovakia's Prosecutor General's Office.

After the protest, the crowd chanted "Enough Fico" and "Glory to Ukraine".

It was reported earlier that Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico was in the Kremlin on 22 December for talks with Vladimir Putin.

The talks discussed issues on the international agenda, as well as the transit of Russian gas.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy criticised Fico's visit to Putin.

Slovak President Peter Pellegrini waits for more information from Robert Fico about the results of his meeting with Putin.
