Czech foreign ministry reports up to 100 suspicious Russia-linked incidents across Europe
Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský has said that Russia could be involved in 100 suspicious incidents in Europe that occurred over the course of 2024.
According to Reuters, Lipavský said that Russia could be behind up to a hundred "suspicious incidents" in Europe this year.
"This year there were 500 suspicious incidents in Europe. Up to 100 of them can be attributed to Russian hybrid attacks, espionage, influence operations. We need to send a strong signal to Moscow that this won't be tolerated," Lipavský said.
Recently, the UK government stressed that Russia was ready to launch a "wave of cyberattacks" against the country.
It has also been reported that Sweden and Norway are abandoning plans to create fully cashless systems because they fear this would leave them vulnerable to security threats from Russia.
Given the security risks, Admiral Rob Bauer, Chair of the NATO Military Committee, said that the Alliance countries would have to spend about 3% of their gross domestic product on defence.
