Spanish Defence Minister Margarita Robles has said during a meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group at the US air base in Ramstein, Germany (also known as the Ramstein format) that her country will soon provide Ukraine with 10 power generators.

According to the Spanish Ministry of Defence, Robles reaffirmed Spain's "firm commitment to Ukraine and security in Europe", informing her counterparts of the most relevant details of the new donations and supplies.

"Among them, she [Robles] noted the upcoming shipment of 10 power generators, as well as the offer of new training courses for the Ukrainian Armed Forces and a new humanitarian aid programme for Ukrainian families that will begin next Sunday, 12 January," the statement said.

Robles also thanked US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, who participated in these meetings for the last time, emphasising "his leadership, commitment and success in effectively coordinating military support for Ukraine from more than 50 countries".

Rustem Umierov said that the next meeting of the Ramstein Group had already been agreed on and should take place in February.

Lloyd Austin said that the next administration would decide whether to keep the format, but it is important for Kyiv and its partners.
