Ukraine’s Defence Minister Rustem Umierov has held a meeting with his British counterpart John Healey during a working visit to the UK.

Umierov said that the main topic of the talks with Healey was to agree on plans for bilateral cooperation in 2025 in key security areas.

"The United Kingdom reaffirmed its commitment to providing continuous and comprehensive support to strengthen Ukraine's position both on the battlefield and on the international stage.

We anticipate enhanced military, political, and economic assistance from our British allies this year," Umierov wrote on Facebook.

He said that special attention was paid to the development of the Ukrainian defence industry.

"The UK has already invested in the production of our weapons, and this collaboration continues – specifically, funding will be directed toward the production of air defence/missile defence systems and long-range weapons," Umierov said.

Last week's meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group, which took place at Ramstein Air Base in Germany, approved roadmaps to support Ukraine until 2027.

At Ramstein, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on the participants to become more involved in the production of drones in Ukraine, as well as to sign bilateral security agreements with Ukraine.
