Czechia has delivered a 155-mm DITA self-propelled artillery system to Ukrainian border guards.

The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine stated on Facebook that, thanks to the support of the Czech people, the firepower of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine has been significantly enhanced.

"We’ve received new, modern equipment – a DITA wheeled self-propelled artillery system," they said.

The new artillery system is automated, allowing a crew of just two people to operate it while ensuring exceptional firing rates.

The operator only needs to input the coordinates, while the system’s computer calculates all necessary firing parameters. Loading and aiming are fully automated.

"This artillery system will soon be taking out the enemy on the frontlines," the statement said.

More than CZK 203 million (over €8 million) had been collected by 5 December as part of a Czech initiative to raise funds for drones to support the fight in Ukraine.

On 13 December, it was announced that funds were also being gathered in Czechia to purchase a Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter for Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.
