After Ukraine halted the transit of Russian gas to Europe, gas supplies to European Union states have been ensured through alternative routes via Germany and Italy, as well as by withdrawing gas from storage facilities.

Andrii Sybiha, Ukraine's Minister of Foreign Affairs, believes that by halting the transit of Russian gas to EU states, Ukraine has deprived Russia of one of its last tools of influence over Europe.

Losses for Ukraine due to the dispute with Poland are estimated at 500 million euro. In 2022 they can be as high as 1 billion euro, says Ukrainian government.
