On Monday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Moldova declared an employee of the Russian embassy persona non grata.

The Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs has decided to expel a Russian diplomat and informed about it Russian ambassador Oleg Vasnetsov, the MFA reports.

"During the meeting, the ministry reiterated the fact that the missile attacks on the neighbouring country continue to escalate the security risks, and the citizens of our country are increasingly feeling the disastrous effects of the war. It was emphasized that the attacks on the Ukrainian energy infrastructure also generate increasing threats to the country's energy security," the statement reads.

As a result, an employee of the Russian Embassy in Chișinău will have to leave the territory of Moldova. They do not disclose who exactly this is.

As previously reported, in the morning of October 31, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Moldova informed that a rocket was shot down by the Ukrainian air defence system and fell on the northern part of the village of Naslavcea, which is located near the border with Ukraine.

Later, the ministry specified that they did not record a violation of Moldova's airspace by rockets, as only fragments of a rocket shot down by Ukrainian air defences fell on the territory of Moldova.

At the same time, according to the information from the border police, the dam was not damaged and there was no threat of flooding.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova strongly condemned the rocket attacks on Kyiv and other cities.
